Bow and Arrow Making

Dive deep into the ancient art of bow making with master instructor Correy Hawk.

Participants will craft a longbow beginning with a stave split from a tree, and with simple hand tools create a beautiful, functional bow. Learn the ancient art of bowmaking from a master bowyer.

This course will give participants the knowledge and experience to go out and make high quality longbows. We will cover each aspect of the bowmaker’s art in detail, while simultaneously crafting an heirloom quality bow.

Included in this course:

The final day of the course is an optional arrowmaking workshop. Arrowmaking is an art in and of itself. Those wishing to make a set of traditional arrows to complete their archery kit will need to bring their own shafts (typically $50), we will send out recommendations of sources for arrow shafts.

This unique workshop is also open to parent/child teams. Imagine spending time with your child, working together to craft something beautiful. Children ages 10 and up can come and make a bow with a parent, both working together on a single bow.


Correy Hawk is the Organic Archer. A Marine Corps veteran, he turned his lifelong love of bowmaking into a full time career as a bowyer in 2018. After spending years creating the highest quality custom bows, he turned his attention to sharing his knowledge with others, and now runs the premier bowmaking school in the US. He has been featured on TV shows such as Alone and the Ultimate Marksman. Also an accomplished bowhunter, he shares a depth of experience along the full spectrum of archery, from harvesting materials, to crafting bows to using them in the field.
